Some pictures to tide you over
over 7 years ago – Fri, Dec 09, 2016 at 02:07:59 PM

Hi Gang,

We are hard at work getting you a larger update with more info on everything. The movie is going to take awhile. There are a number of new issues to solve given the length (post-production, VFX, score, etc). I am currently working on a plan to tackle everything so I can give you an updated timeline for completion. (Whew! It's just too damn big!)

But, it will be worth the wait. In the meantime, here are stills from the film to tide you over.

Thanks for your patience and support,

Jesse & Team Puppetcore

Production Diary: Taylor Stump and the Insurmountable Tasks Set Before Her
over 7 years ago – Wed, Oct 19, 2016 at 12:35:27 PM

Zed-ites! Long time no update.

October, 2016. It is hard to believe but it has been a year since we launched our campaign and first met all you wonderful people.

Those of you with an eye on the details may be wondering where all your goodies are. Weren't you supposed to be watching the finished film at home by now, snuggled up in a F&Z crew hoodie?

Well, the film is taking a little longer than expected. Why you ask?

Frank & Zed is now a feature length film.

That's right! We originally planned for a 35 minute film but have had so much fun in the world of F&Z that we had to expand their tale. Now, this has a host of ramifications for you (and the film.) We will be giving more details on the status of the project, rewards, etc before the end of the month. I can tell you that primary production has wrapped and that we have a rough cut of the 90 minute film! (More to come.)

In the meantime, we want to introduce you to Taylor Stump.

 What Next?

Our next production diary details the filming of the epic final battle and last days of production. We spent a full three months of shooting on the battle so we are very excited to give you a peak at what went into our blood-soaked finale.

We've got some more news concerning the post-production of Frank & Zed coming soon, so keep your eye on the updates for that.

It's been a long, hard, but incredibly fulfilling experience making this film and we want to, once more, thank you all for the opportunity! The finish line is in sight and we're full gear working on delivering the best puppet horror film possible! Stay tuned!

Extra Bits

What to look for in the video:

0:11 - https://youtu.be/NHe6Wdce3vw?t=9s

0:42 - Much like Quentin Tarantino did in Sin City, Jason Ropp guest directed one scene in Frank & Zed. It involved a chicken.

0:50 - Jesse is wearing his Empire Pictures reward from fellow Kickstarter Film, "Celluloid Wizards in the Video Wastland."

4:28 - Which severed puppet head hangs in the plastic bag behind Taylor? Who could it be??

5:50 - Eagle Eyed viewers may recognize these "dolls" as "Zombies!!!" board game tokens.

5:55 - Practical effects, baby!

So much death! Report from the trenches of the Double Battle
over 7 years ago – Tue, Aug 23, 2016 at 07:38:14 PM

Hello Zed-ites,

Whoa.

It has been a doozy of a summer on Frank & Zed; we have been neck deep in felt, corn syrup, and red food coloring for the last two months as we wade through the Double Battle.

Baker Prime rests his head.
Baker Prime rests his head.

I am excited to tell you that the battle and the film are gonna be a little bigger, longer, and gorier than we promised... actually a LOT bigger, longer, and gorier. (The shooting schedule for the battle alone is as long as we had budgeted for the entire original film.)

What? The film is longer? That's great news!
What? The film is longer? That's great news!

Yes, our little film has grown. In fact, it has more than doubled in size. More on that to come, in the meantime, here are some stills from the battle and behind-the-scenes photos for you.

Thanks so much!
