Cameras (and Heads) will Roll!
over 8 years ago – Thu, Nov 05, 2015 at 02:17:20 PM

Hey Zed-ites!

Because of you, the story of Frank & Zed will be told.

We have hit our first funding threshold because 172 of you incredible people have stepped up to make this happen. You each own a portion of this so ‘Thank you’ and ‘Congratulations!’

So, what are we doing now? We’re diving deeper down the rabbit hole!

The story of F&Z runs deep and I want to explore as much of it with you as possible. So, we’ve laid out the first set of stretch goals. As we hit them, we’ll reveal more of the winding path that we are racing down.

Our rabbit hole does not lead to a walrus, carpenter, and a group of unfortunate oysters - it leads to flesh eating fish and flaming zombie intestines - which is our first goal AND as I write this we are just $127 away from hitting it.

Next Krampus Weapon still open

We’ve gotten some great ideas from you all for the next Krampus Weapon. It is not too late to get your genius made manifest. Head over to Facebook and comment with your idea (fyi - doesn’t have to be a weapon per se, just something that could take somebody out. Perhaps a Krampus Mug that is broken and the shards make their way into someone’s jugular?)

Backer Suggestions

Lastly, many of you continue to spread the word in very cool ways. For instance, we will soon have the entire Kickstarter Video available with Japanese subtitles thanks to one overseas fan who wanted to share it with his friends. If you have a language you would like to make available, please contact me and we can figure out how to make it happen.

That’s it for now,

Thanks so much!

You Choose the Next Krampus Weapon
over 8 years ago – Tue, Nov 03, 2015 at 01:13:47 PM

Hey F&Z Heads!

Axe, Mace, Crossbow...what's next? You Decide!

  • You suggest the instrument of death
  • We make it and use it in the film
  • You take it home when we wrap

Ok, how's it work?

  • Jump to the Facebook page
  • Leave a comment suggesting your best weapon concept
  • We'll announce the winner Friday at 10am PST

We have to run this through Facebook as Kickstarter frowns on anything outside their guidelines. Look for this image:

Have some crazy creative friends? Let them know too! Sure, it will lessen your chances...but it will help the film! And that's what we're all here for, right? Making the best G.D. puppet monster movie imaginable!

The Stakes are REAL!

We used to complain about how small our 380 sq. foot studio was....until we lost it. I just moved and no longer have access to our little garage. This is what remains of what was once the Frank & Zed set:

I wanted to share this to show you all where your support is going. By backing this project, you're giving Frank & Zed a new home. Perhaps one with heat?  :)

Backer Suggestions

We're getting lots of great suggestions on how to spread the word. And one of the most common bits of advice is to "Ask for help." So, that's what we're going to do now: could you share our little project with two new people this week?

We're getting close to our goal and we're really looking forward to sharing our ideas for stretch goals with you all!

Thanks so much!

Extra Bits

What do cold pizza and Frank & Zed have to do with each other? Find out here!

Could Zed actually survive eating only his own brains? Ask Frank & Zed backer, Doctor of the Dead!

When all you producers are swinging by for your on-set visits, be sure to check out F&Z supporter, The Side Door for all your culinary needs (sorry, no squirrel brains).

Welcome to Murder Village and Backer Banners!
over 8 years ago – Wed, Oct 28, 2015 at 02:18:42 PM

Hey There F&Z Heads!

I would like to thank all of our old friends for coming back and all of our new friends for starting the journey with us.

Today, I want to talk to you about the man who comes round every December and, of course, I'm talking about Krampus.

The villagers have worked his visage into all of their weapons. Why? How? Learn for yourself in this exciting video update!

Backer Suggestion - Make some Backer Banners!

Now, many of you know that we are better filmmakers than Kickstarter-ers, and so we have asked for your help...and you delivered!

We were given the excellent suggestion of making some Backer Banners to share, so you can brag about your patronage of puppet horror and con other people into joining the horde.

Here they are!

You should be able to Right Click to Save As these images. If you have any trouble, contact us and we will sort it out.

If you are looking for something else to share, you can go to this Flickr site to download hi-res production stills.

Extra Bits:
Know a good musician? We're looking for better tracks to use with the updates?

Do you Reddit? We've had many people suggest we 'get on Reddit' but none of the team uses the site enough to not come off as a total newbie spammer.
