Latest Updates from Our Project:

Frank's Heart

Hey Gang,

I know it's been another long wait between updates. I'm still trying to navigate distribution which remains murky and challenging.

In the meantime, I'm packing up some Frank & Zed stuff to make room for my next film.  Here's a quick peek at some of the goods!

 Frank's Heart Mech

One of the massive challenges with the film is visualizing fantastic elements.  I realized early on that I would have to show Frank's heart and the amount of electricity he had for the audience to fully enjoy the world and the story.

But... how do you build a Frankenstein's Monster's heart?

Here's a shot from the finished film.

Here's a quick look at the finished prop cobbled together from glass, wood, and paper towels! I also used a vintage magnifying glass over the meter to make things more interesting.

Note: Another detail I added was to flip a square jar to 45°. I found this made the simple square shape more interesting. What do you think?

I know you are all still waiting on DVDs, BluRays, and news about when the film will finally be released. I'm pushing as hard as I can (as I have been) but I still don't have anything solid to report. There is some good news on the horizon. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Thanks again for your patience,

Jesse

Original Frank & Zed art

Hey Friends!

I know it has (again) been too long between updates. Getting the film to you remains and elusive fox that continually slips through my fingers. However, please know I am doing my best to make it happen.

With the dearth of new, news to share I did a little digging to find a wonderful gem - the original Frank & Zed illustration by Scotty Wygmans aka Dark Wizard Berserker.

Here's the original image by Scott!

Look at that detail!

The image was done completely by hand! No photoshop - just like the film.

Here's the image on the FZ hoodie. The second print was not set-up correctly and had to be redone.
One of Scott's other cool projects.

That's it for this update. Again, I'm sorry for the continued delays. It continues to be very complicated navigating independent film distribution. But I am working on some good news and I hope to share it soon.

Thanks for all your patience and support!

Jesse

Most Rewards Shipped AND Elijah Wood Love Frank & Zed!
about 4 years ago – Wed, Feb 09, 2022 at 01:20:04 PM

Hey Friends,

It has once again been TOO LONG since your update. So, what's going on?

Most Non-Disc Rewards Shipped!

It takes me an average of 20 minutes to pack and ship each reward. With over 500 to send out, it's been a HUGE project but so exciting to tackle.

I'm happy to report that almost all Non-Disc Rewards have been shipped! The one exception is small rewards (Pins, Storyboards, that can be packaged with discs).

If you have NOT received a larger reward (t-shirt, hoodie, etc) please let me know and I'll get it sorted.

Discs remain a LONG way off. We have some super fun stuff we're working on for them that is taking longer than expected. Surprise. Surprise. Twitter

Elijah Wood and Macon Blair LOVE Frank & Zed!

Note - The above image was photoshopped to crop out additional Twitter replies.

We had a pretty cool moment recently. Elijah Wood got his hands on an early screener of the film and blasted out a response on Twitter to Macon Blair. So cool seeing this back and forth!

When are the discs coming and what's next?

We're still working on that. There are a lot of moving pieces and I'm also waiting to see if some fun and exciting stuff will happen... or not. Thanks so much for your patience.

Best,

Jesse.

P.S. If for some reason you never received a screener link to the film, let me know and I will hook it up! Screeners are watermarked and have limited viewing windows. Just FYI.
